Welcome to my campaign website! My name is Ray Vandeveer and I am running to continue being your State Senator in District 52.

It’s more than our schools, our shops, and our farms that make Minnesota the great place that it is. The real magic comes from our people. I’m reminded of that every time I spot a familiar face at the grocery store, visit with friends after church, or meet with a small business owner through the chamber. Minnesota is filled with honest, hardworking people who treat one another fairly and value common sense solutions to tough problems.

It’s a mind-set that I’m proud to represent in St. Paul. While some in the legislature define courage as the readiness to stand up for government by raising taxes on the citizens, you and I know that real courage is standing up to government by speaking out for the people. While some in government measure progress by the size and scope of new regulations, you and I know that genuine progress is measured by the size and scope of individual dreams and ambition.

I am a principled conservative who believes the solutions we choose must be based on sound principle. The problems we face require thoughtful public discussion because ultimately, we must persuade the people of Minnesota that a different direction is preferable to the continued drift into increased state dependency.
